Al White

Al White served twenty-five years as a Military Policeman with the Canadian Forces, serving in Canada and Cyprus. Early in his career he attended an Instructional Techniques Instructors Course, and has actively been instructing ever since. Four of these years he was an instructor at the Canadian Forces Military Police Academy at CFB Borden, Ontario, where he instructed Military Police recruits in various police subjects. Following his retirement from the Canadian Forces he served as the second in command of DND Commissionaires at the HMC Naval Dockyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he was responsible for the training and development in the security field of all Commissionaires. He also served as the Training Officer of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, where he was directly responsible for the training of all Commissionaires in the Province of Nova Scotia. This included meeting the Canadian General Standards Board's criteria for uniformed security guards, developing lesson plans and presentations while providing training on a variety of specialized Courses.

White recently completed a contract for an independent lumber company in southern Nova Scotia and was instrumental in bringing the company to the standard required for ISO registration. He is also responsible for Safety, Health and Security, and continues to conduct training and consultation on a contract basis.

White considers the highlight of his training career as being invited to teach for a period of time at the Atlantic Police Academy, a division of Holland College on Prince Edward Island, where he trained police recruits.
